College Profile :

Abbey College Cambridge was founded in 1994 and has an outstanding record of academic success.

The college offers students a stimulating environment in which staff and students work together to achieve academic excellence.  Students are treated as mature young adults and classes are taught by tutors committed to examination success.

There are about 260 students at the college, almost all of whom are in the 6th form and preparing for the General Certificate of Education at A-level. The track record of Abbey College Cambridge students speaks for itself.  Our results have established the college as one of the very best independent 6th form colleges in Great Britain.  In the 2010 A-level examinations our students achieved the following pass rates: grade A* 32.2%, grade A*/A 70% and grade A*/B 82.2%.

The standard of teaching is particularly high and the College regularly achieves excellent results.  In the past seven years 40 of its students have gone on to the universities of Oxford and Cambridge, with a further 59 gaining admission to the Medical (38), Dentistry (7), Veterinary Medicine (5) and Law (10) schools.

In 2010, six students were admitted to colleges of the universities of Oxford and Cambridge.  Twenty other students were admitted to Imperial College of Science & Technology (7), London School of Economics & Political Science (5) and University College London (8); three others gained admission to read medicine (1) and law (2).

In 2010, a total of 57 (72%) of our students were admitted to universities within the Russell Group of research-intensive institutions.
