The College was established in 1909 and we have been successfully educating and training students for both degree study and employment.
We have welcomed students from overseas for over 50 years and have a well organised Progress Tutorial system and overseas students are welcomed into this. Our International Curriculum Team Leader is also able to guide international students throughout their studies and also assist with university applications both in individual and group tutorials. This year we have welcomed 2000 full time students both local and international. 300 of our students came from 40 countries worldwide making a really international environment in which to study and live.
We understand how concerned families are when their son / daughter travel overseas for the very first time and for all new overseas students studying for a full academic year, the college provides a transfer service Free Of Charge from the airports to Loughborough College. For shorter courses students can still access this service however the cost will be charged to the student.
During their studies all our international students receive free English Language lessons in addition to their subjects. Students also have access to the Learning Resource Centre, with computers, colour printers, scanners, books, magazines and periodicals, all supporting the students learning needs. Internet and e-mail access in the college is free to all Loughborough College students. There is a dedicated Language Zone with tutor support where students have access to more resources to support their English studies. All our Academic English courses are accredited by the British Council.
At Loughborough College we are proud of our students achievements, many achieving high grades in their end of year examinations and progressing to some of the top UK universities, such as, Cambridge, Oxford, Warwick, Loughborough, Nottingham and many, many others.
We are also a partner college to Loughborough University and deliver their International Foundation programmes in Business and Science / Engineering. More information is available on both the college and university website.
The college share the same, open, green campus with Loughborough University and all college students automatically join the university Student Union at enrolment. This gives students access to all the social activities and sporting facilities on the college and university campus. We also have high standard halls of residence located on the campus or for those students wanting more support there is the opportunity for Homestay arrangements.
