The beautiful Yorkshire Dales are just minutes away, including Ilkley Moor, Haworth and scores of scenic towns and villages.
For those who prefer the city life, Leeds has just about everything you could want. There are over 200 bars and restaurants in the city centre alone, catering for all tastes from Spanish and Italian to Chinese, Thai and traditional English food.
There are 3 cinema complexes, 4 theatres, Leeds United Football Club, Leeds Rhinos rugby league, ten-pin bowling, 5 art galleries, museums to suit all interests, and an international swimming pool.

Year-round Social Programme
During the Summer months we run our own social programme, including weekly trips to places such as York, Liverpool and Manchester.
We also run museum visits and picnics, treasure hunts & other ways to get the most out of your stay in Leeds. Take a look at our Summer Courses page to see last year's social programme.
In addition, we offer all students the chance to book weekend visits to places such as Edinburgh, London and the Lake District.
These weekend trips are organised year-round and delivered by Dont Be A Tourist, a Leeds-based student travel company run by Nevil Owen, a former teacher at Leeds Languages. Nevil delivers a fun programme of budget-priced trips which are well organised and include return travel from Leeds and, where necessary, accommodation.
